The web is full of excellent resources just waiting to be accessed and utilized by students. Here are a few I recommend:

GRAMMAR RULES:

Learning proper grammar seems to be a never-ending process. Sandy's Grammar Rules is a teacher-created site that provides wonderful explanations on many aspects of the English language. She also includes help for ELA students.

Another great grammar rule site that is fun to read is the Humorous Grammar Rules. Each sentence contains the rule and how it is broken.

PROOFREADING:

Part of the writing process involves editing. Knowing the standard proofreading marks makes the process of editing much easier. There are some excellent proofreader's marks charts available on the web.
